I found something wonderful totally by chance during my visit to SF.
This is Jon Brumit, performance/visual artist from SF. I noticed him setting up a bunch of old turntables & audio equipment at the Metreon, where I was visiting a friend who works there. Some of the records on the turntables were playing normally, some were playing at different speeds, some were skipping, and some turntables were playing nothing sans needles. It was great noise!
It turns out that Jon was commissioned by an SF art committee to perform for 30 minutes that day, and that everything he was using in the peformance was found in the SF dump.
